Advanced AI & Research Tools While the era of completely free "lifetime" AI Pro accounts has mostly shifted toward subsidized tiers, students still get premium access for a fraction of the cost. Google Gemini & NotebookLM (50% Off): While Google’s massive 12-month free promo recently wrapped up, students can still claim a 1-month free trial followed by a 50% discount ($9.99/month) for the Google AI Pro tier. This unlocks Gemini Advanced (powered by their latest Pro models), a 1-million+ token context window, and 2TB of cloud storage. It also boosts NotebookLM , an absolute game-changer for studying that allows you to upload PDFs or lecture audio to instantly generate study guides, flashcards, and audio podcasts. Perplexity Education Pro ($10/month): Normally $20/month, verifying your student ID via SheerID slashes the price of Perplexity Pro by 50% . For academic research, Perplexity is arguably the best tool available because it functions as an AI search engine that explicitly cites its sources, grants access to advanced models (like Claude and GPT), and allows extensive file/image uploads. ChatGPT Edu (Campus-Dependent): OpenAI does not offer a standalone, individual student discount for ChatGPT Plus. Instead, they partner directly with universities via ChatGPT Edu . If your university has enrolled, you get free, unlimited access to advanced models, custom GPTs, and data analysis tools, completely isolated from public training data for privacy. 2. Software Development & Coding (The Holy Grail) If you are studying computer science, engineering, or data science, the resources available to you are worth thousands of dollars. GitHub Student Developer Pack (100% Free): This is the gold standard of student benefits. By verifying your university email, you get access to dozens of premium tools, most notably: GitHub Copilot: Completely free access to the world’s premier AI coding assistant (normally $10/month). GitHub Codespaces: Free cloud hosting compute hours to run environments without burning your laptop’s battery. Deepnote & DataCamp: Free premium access to collaborative data science notebooks and premium data learning tracks. Cloud Credits: Hundreds of dollars in free credits for platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS. 3. Creative & Design Platforms AI features have been aggressively integrated into creative software, and students get the best access. Canva for Education / Figma Education: Both platforms grant 100% free access to their premium/pro tiers for eligible students and educators. This includes Canva's AI "Magic Studio" tools (AI image generation, copywriting, instant presentation building) and Figma’s cutting-edge UI/UX design tools and AI-assisted prototyping. Adobe Creative Cloud (Over 60% Off): While not completely free, students get the entire Adobe suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.) for a massive discount. This includes access to Adobe Firefly , their generative AI model, enabling powerful generative fill and vector creation features directly inside the apps. 4. Productivity, Organization & Learning Notion Education Plus (100% Free): Students can upgrade their personal workspace to the Education Plus Plan for free . It allows unlimited file uploads, unlimited blocks, and robust version history. While Notion AI (the add-on writing assistant) requires a separate subscription, it is heavily discounted for student accounts. Microsoft 365 Education: Most universities provide Microsoft 365 for free. This typically includes standard access to Microsoft Copilot (integrated into Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) with commercial data protection, meaning your essays and study materials are kept completely private and secure. Coursera & Tech Certifications (Up to 40% Off / Financial Aid): If you want to learn AI skills outside of your university curriculum, Coursera offers steep discounts (such as 40% off Coursera Plus) and highly accessible Financial Aid programs. You can earn official AI certificates from Google, IBM, and top-tier universities for free or next to nothing. 💡 Pro-Tip for Verification To claim 95% of these offers, you just need two things: An active institutional email address (ending in .edu , .it , etc.). An account on SheerID or UNiDAYS (the third-party platforms most tech companies use to verify that you are actively enrolled). Always check your university’s internal IT portal first—many schools buy campus-wide licenses for tools like Zoom AI, MATLAB, or ChatGPT Edu that students don't even realize they have access to! Dear All I have done some research on ChatGPT Edu. From what I can see it is not 100% free, basically the university signs up and pays a subscription, which in return will provide students with free access. So it is free for students but not for Epicode. I have also checked out their pricing, and it seems that the pricing for the Edu component is not listed and points us to contact them for help. I sent an enquiry saying we are interesting in acquiring this for our students, once i have a reply i will let you know thank you Sarah On Tue, May 19, 2026 at 9:49 PM Ivan Ranza <ivan.ranza@epicode.com> wrote: > Super! > > On 19 May 2026, at 20:53, Giulio Spinozzi <giulio.spinozzi@epicode.edu.mt> > wrote: > > It’s the way to go! > We have to share the best education tools to our students!! > > Once we have most of them in pipe we should publish and spam all these > benefits to social, brochures ecc… > > G > > *Eng.
