EPICODE Institute of Technology
Hello guys,
I have this student asking this question about the Programming Principles
exam and I wonder if we do give all of this information to students before
the exam?
As well as I do not have this information, could you help me out?

Subject: Questions about Programming Principles exam
To: EPICODE Institute of Technology <faculty@epicode.edu.mt>
Dear EPICODE Team,
Thank you for confirming my registration for the Programming Principles
exam on July 15th.
I would like to ask a few questions in order to prepare correctly:
1. Could you please confirm whether the exam will be held in Italian or in
English for first-year students?
2. In the email it says that the exam will consist of open-ended questions.
Could you please clarify whether these questions will mainly be coding
exercises, similar to the pre-exam exercises, or whether there may also be
theoretical written questions?
3. During the exam on exam.net, will students be required to write only
Python code, or also explain their reasoning in written answers?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards.

Dear Student,
We would like to confirm your registration for the upcoming

The exam, consisting of open-ended questions, will be held on the platform
exam.net and it will last approximately .2 to 3 hours. You will receive a
code to access the platform the day of the exam after passing
the verification process on the Webex platform. Please connect at least 15
minutes earlier.
To ensure our internal evaluation process has your input, please make sure
to fill the following evaluation form of the course.

Some important information to read carefully:
1. The exam will be on WebEx: please test the application before to be
certain that both the microphone and webcam are in working order.
2. Headphones are not allowed.
3. Virtual Backgrounds are not allowed.
4. You will need two cameras: one facing you, and the second one framing
the monitor and the keyboard. You can also use your smartphone as a second
camera.
Ideally, you can connect from a notebook / PC and smartphone. Please
remember to mute/silence the smartphone to avoid audio feedback.
5. External monitors will not be allowed. One of the two cameras should
allow the examiner to see that nobody is in the room with you, you are the
one typing and no external displays are in sight.
6. *You will be requested to have a valid ID for verification (es.:
Carta d'Identità or Passport. No Driving License) and your matriculation
number.*
7. The interview will be recorded.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at
faculty@epicode.edu.mt
Kind regards and best of luck!

Ciao Michelle,
1. The exam will be in English, but 1-year students can answer in
Italian.
2. It mainly consists of practical exercises (but theoretical questions
may be involved).
3. I think we can skip this one, it's too much information 😂 but it
will definitely be required to write Python code.
